Aftercare for medical aesthetic treatment (including wrinkle reducing, volumising or skin treatments) typically involves some general guidelines to ensure the best results and minimize any potential side effects. Here are some common aftercare tips:
Avoid touching the treated area: Try not to touch or rub the treated area for at least 24 hours after the procedure. This helps prevent the spread of bacteria and minimizes the risk of infection.
Avoid strenuous exercise: It's advisable to avoid strenuous exercise and activities that may increase blood flow to the treated area for at least 24 hours. This can help reduce swelling and bruising.
Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medications: Alcohol and certain medications like aspirin and ibuprofen can increase the risk of bruising and swelling. It's best to avoid these for at least 24 hours post-procedure.
Use cold compresses: Applying cold compresses or ice packs to the treated area can help reduce swelling and discomfort. Be sure to wrap the ice pack in a cloth to protect your skin and only apply it for short intervals at a time.
Stay hydrated: Drinking plenty of water can help hydrate your skin and promote healing.
Follow specific instructions from your provider: Your healthcare provider may provide you with specific instructions tailored to your treatment. Follow these instructions carefully for the best results.
Attend follow-up appointments: Depending on the type of treatment and your individual response, your nurse will schedule a two week follow-up appointment to assess your results and address any concerns. It is extremely important to attend this appointment or have it rescheduled to a more suited time if scheduling issues arise.
Avoid sun exposure: Direct sunlight can exacerbate swelling and bruising. It's best to avoid prolonged sun exposure and use sunscreen if you need to go outside.
Be patient: Results from cosmetic treatments may take some time to fully develop. Be patient and give your body time to adjust to the treatment. This can be up to 6 weeks post volume treatment and up to 2 weeks for wrinkle reducing treatments.
Contact your provider if you have concerns: If you experience any unusual or concerning symptoms after your treatment, such as discolouration, excessive swelling, pain, or signs of infection, contact your Team H Aesthetics immediately via ph 0478 936 166, available 24hrs & 7 days.
Remember, these are general guidelines, and it's essential to follow the specific instructions provided by your healthcare provider for your individual treatment.
